I have an 8 year old healer that had been hit by a car a few years ago. Although all the injuries had healed up, he started getting very stiff and had gotten to where he couldn't play anymore or even go on car rides because he couldn't get in and out of the car and seemed to really prefer staying home. I started him on elk velvet about a year ago, It took a few weeks, but then he runs and plays with our younger healer and now loves to go with us in the car. This is something that is on our list of 'must haves' for our dogs. We give it to our 5 year old now too. He likes the taste. That's all he cares about. We hope this will help his joins as he ages. We are fans!
I have to let you know how much I love the Elk Velvet for my dog. My dog has terrible allergies and the Vet wanted to start giving him allergy shots, but I have been that route in the past with a dog and did not want to do it again. I started giving him Benadryl instead and that helped a little bit for a little while. His nose would become crusty and pusses filled and bleed. I wondered sometimes how he could even breathe. I used to clean it by soaking a rag with hot water and trying to loosen all the stuff off his nose, but you can imagine how much he enjoyed that. One day when I was getting his special dog food the owner of the store gave me a small bag of elk velvet and told me to try it out on my dog. I went home and added it to his food and within a couple days his nose was so much better I went back and bought a two pound bag. My dogs nose will never be perfect but his nose is a thousand times better than it was before. There is minimal crusting, and I dont have to clean it any more. I was pretty skeptical when I first was given the elk velvet. But I am a firm believer now. I recommend it to every pet owner I know. I know the Elk Velvet has also done wonders on my dogs arthritis, he used to cripple up a couple times a month, now we havent had an incidence since we began using it.
